I’m a retired Foreign Service Officer who served during the Cold War in Bulgaria, Zambia, Ghana, the U.S. Mission to the EU in Brussels, Yugoslavia (now Croatia) and India. For some time now I’ve posted my observations on my FaceBook page but belatedly realized that FB is more about flowers and cuddly little animals (OK, cats) than a forum for discussion of more serious topics. Here I mean to comment on whatever comes to mind, which these days is mostly our odd political process. My personal observation point is Brooklyn, NY, where I live with my wife, Lee, a writer, and where I am happily within hailing distance of my daughter, son-in-law and two of my four grandchildren. This blog is at present a grand experiment; we shall see where it takes me and, I hope, you.
